A prestigious ceremony was held at the Provincial Headquarters of Rescue1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to honor the exemplary, professional, and courageous services of its Rescuers. Two frontline Rescuers were awarded honorary medals for their outstanding performance in the line of duty.
The event was presided over by the Director General of Rescue1122, Mr. Muhammad Tayyab Abdullah. The primary purpose of the ceremony was to recognize the unwavering commitment, bravery, and professionalism of Rescue1122 personnel and to boost their morale.
In a historic first for the department, the Director General personally presented a ceremonial salute to the frontline staff — a gesture usually reserved for high-ranking officers. This act symbolized the institution’s deep respect and solidarity with its rescuers on the ground.
During the ceremony, Rescuer Murad Khan was awarded a medal for his heroic efforts in extinguishing a building fire, during which he risked his life and sustained a broken arm, yet continued his duties without pause until the fire was brought under control.
Similarly, Emergency Medical Technician Asif Nawaz was honored for saving the life of an unconscious citizen on Charsadda Road by continuously administering CPR after the individual suffered a cardiac arrest due to electrocution. His timely response revived the victim and averted tragedy.
The Director General presented honorary medals and new uniforms to the two rescuers, declaring their service a source of pride for the department.
